Writing Everyday #1
A new year starts today, and I wouldn't have noticed. I was never big on holidays, special events, birthdays etc, and so never really thought of new year resolutions. This new year's day is not different, but I have been looking for more opportunities to improve my writing and the timing is more coincidental than planned.
My goal is to write a public post everyday. As I think about this commitment, it seems daunting, almost impossible, and I feel like I will not succeed to write and post everyday. But, despite my discomfort and my self-doubts, I will post my thoughts and this self made commitment. I am interested to see what I will write about. I hope I don't get stuck just writing short one sentence posts about my feelings, or worse, let tomorrow pass without clicking 'post' on any platform.
I will end this with a quote I recently took to heart: “If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid with regard to external things. Don't wish to be thought to know anything; and even if you appear to be somebody important to others, distrust yourself. For, it is difficult to both keep your faculty of choice in a state conformable to nature, and at the same time acquire external things. But while you are careful about the one, you must of necessity neglect the other”
